Re-opening mid July 2009

Re-opening after being partially ravaged by a fire on September 11th no less, The Arlie Arms hotel has been rebuilt in places and redecorated in others, all works being done to a very high standard indeed!  Don't believe us? Then come and take a look (we are sure many people will!)!

Our restaurant caters for residents and public alike with our menu to suit most tastes and incorporating as much local produce as can be sourced, cooking everything fresh and to order.

In the heart of the Angus Glens, Clova, Prosen and Isla, Kirriemuir is a pretty and picturesque town that is the birthplace of Sir J M Barrie, famously the author of Peter Pan (amongst many others) you are reminded of this fact by the statue of Peter that greets you as you arrive in the town.  Known as the “Little Red Town” because of the colour of the local stone used to build the majority of the dwellings in Kirriemuir, many of the house and street names reflect J M Barrie’s influence here. His gift of the Camera Obscura to the people of the town (one of only three in Scotland)  is definitely worth a visit.

The three glens are heaven for anyone wishing to pursue outdoor pursuits and a wide variety can be enjoyed in the area.  The scenery is spectacular, changing with the light of day and seasons, there is always something fascinating to be found.  Walking, shooting, fishing and golfing parties are amongst the many activities that can be enjoyed in the area and we can cater for all of these at the Airlie.
